Ilkley Wedding Photographer

Hi, I’m Dave, a relaxed, documentary wedding photographer based near Castleford. I photograph weddings in Ilkley, Otley, Skipton and up into Wharfedale, from the Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey to the Chevin, and there’s no travel charge for any of it.

I don’t do stiff posing. I’ll capture your day as it unfolds, keep the portraits short and give you around 800 edited pictures from a full day, in an online gallery within three weeks.

Photographing a Wedding in Ilkley

Wharfedale is one of the prettiest places I get to work. The moors, the river and the old stone buildings make a wonderful backdrop, and the venues up here make the most of it.

I’ll usually start with you while you’re getting ready, catching the laughs with your bridesmaids and the last few nerves, then follow you through the ceremony and the drinks without getting in the way.

Portraits take about twenty minutes, so you’re not away from your guests for long. With the Signature or Complete package we’ll pop out again after sunset for fifteen minutes of twilight pictures, and up here the evening light can be beautiful.

Then it’s the speeches and the dancing, which is where your friends and family really come into the story.

The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey

The Tithe Barn is a 16th-century, Grade II listed barn on the Bolton Abbey estate, looking across to the ruins of Bolton Priory. You can marry in the barn for up to 200, or outside on the terrace in summer, and the food is cooked in an open kitchen over BBQs and rotisseries. See Megan & Adam’s wedding.

The Priest’s House is at Barden Tower, also on the Bolton Abbey estate. Ceremonies are held in the Chapel for up to 80, and the House seats 30 for a smaller day. Vikki & Daniel married here.

East Riddlesden Hall is at Riddlesden, on the edge of Keighley, with the River Aire running alongside. You can marry in the Airedale Barn, which seats up to 160, or in the Great Hall of the 17th-century house. See Danielle & David’s wedding.

Hollins Hall
