Planning Your Sandburn Hall Wedding
Sandburn Hall is at Flaxton, just outside York, and it only ever hosts one wedding a day, so the day is all about you. There’s free parking on site, a 40 bedroom hotel and 55 lodges at Griffon Forest a short walk away, so it’s easy for guests to stay over and nobody has to rush off.
If you’re hoping to marry outdoors in the White Rose Garden under the folly, plan for both options, with the Grand Hall as your indoor choice. On the morning, you and the team can decide based on the weather, so there’s no last-minute stress.
With 1,000 acres of lakes and woodland, there are lots of places for portraits. The best light comes in the last couple of hours before sunset, so if your timings allow, keep a short gap in the evening for a walk by the water. I keep portraits to around twenty minutes, so you’re not away from your guests for long.
If you’re marrying in church, Sandburn Hall can host the reception and party afterwards, and its team of wedding coordinators will help with everything from the ceremony through to the evening. It’s also worth asking about their winter wedding offer if you’re flexible on dates.
Dogs are welcome, and there are dog-friendly Lake Rooms. If your dog is joining in, ask a friend to look after them for the day, so they can bring them over for the ceremony and a few pictures. If you’re planning a wedding at Sandburn Hall, get in touch.
