Photographing a Wedding in Hull

East Yorkshire has big skies and wide open parkland, and on a moody day those clouds make for some of my favourite pictures.

I’ll usually start while you’re getting ready, then catch the groomsmen arriving and the guests gathering, without anyone feeling watched.

Portraits take about twenty minutes, and with the Signature or Complete package we’ll slip out after sunset for fifteen minutes of twilight pictures. Then it’s the speeches and the dance floor.

Hull Venues I Know

These are the venues I photograph for couples from Hull. Each one has its own page with more about the venue.

Cave Castle

Cave Castle is at South Cave, between Hull and York, at the start of the Yorkshire Wolds, with its original turrets still in place. It sits in 150 acres of parkland with a lake and an 18-hole golf course, has the Balmoral and Sandringham suites and 71 bedrooms, and needs a minimum of 60 guests during the day. Have a look at Rosie & Peter’s wedding.

Carlton Towers

Carlton Towers is at Carlton, near Selby, and it’s still the family home of Lord and Lady Gerald Fitzalan Howard. Weddings are exclusive use, with 16 bedrooms in the house and cottages on the estate, and the walled garden is now a vineyard making English sparkling wine.
