Holmfirth Wedding Photographer
Hi, I’m Dave, a relaxed, documentary wedding photographer based near Castleford. I photograph weddings in Holmfirth and right across the Holme Valley, from Holmfirth Vineyard to the Huntsman Inn up on the moors, and there’s no travel charge for any of it.
I don’t do stiff posing. I’ll capture your day as it unfolds, keep the portraits short and give you around 800 edited pictures from a full day, in an online gallery within three weeks.

Photographing a Wedding in Holmfirth
Holmfirth is a lovely place to photograph a wedding. The valley drops away below the venues, the hills roll on behind, and even on a grey day the views give your pictures a real sense of place.

I’ll usually start with you while you’re getting ready, catching the toasts with your bridesmaids and the last few nerves, then follow you through the ceremony and the drinks without getting in the way.

Portraits take about twenty minutes, so you’re not away from your guests for long. Up here I love using the hills as a backdrop, and with the Signature or Complete package we’ll pop out again after sunset for fifteen minutes of twilight pictures.

Then it’s the speeches and the dancing, which is where your friends and family really come into the story, and if you fancy a bit of sparkle at the end of the night, I’m all for it.

Wedding Venues Near Holmfirth
These are the venues around Holmfirth that I photograph. Each one has its own page with more about the venue and the real weddings I’ve photographed there.
Holmfirth Vineyard

Holmfirth Vineyard is a working vineyard on the hillside above Holmfirth, with its own restaurant and wine made from its own vines. You can marry in the Solaris Suite or out on the terrace, with up to 140 guests, and the vineyard is yours for the day. There are seven apartments on site for staying over. Have a look at Holly & Mathew’s wedding.
The Huntsman Inn

The Huntsman Inn sits high on the Pennines on Greenfield Road, above Holmfirth, with panoramic views across the countryside. It holds a civil licence, so you can marry on site, and the Harden Hill Suite seats 150, with its own bar, its own entrance and a late licence. See Hanna & Tom’s wedding.
Bagden Hall

Bagden Hall is a short drive from Holmfirth at Scissett, set in 40 acres of gardens with a lake and mature trees. It’s licensed for ceremonies indoors and, from April to October, out on the lawns, takes from 10 up to 200 guests, and only ever hosts one wedding a day. Tamsin & Alasdair’s wedding is a lovely one to look through.
How Much Is a Wedding Photographer in Holmfirth?

My packages start with Essential at £1,300 for ten hours. Signature is £1,800 for the full day and is the one most couples choose, and Complete, which adds video, is £2,400. If you only need part of the day, it’s £400.
There are discounts for winter weddings (October to March) and midweek weddings (Monday to Thursday), and I don’t charge travel to Holmfirth. Everything that’s included is on my prices page.
