EMILY & KEVIN – Whitley Hall Hotel Wedding
Emily and Kevin’s winter wedding at Whitley Hall Hotel was the kind of day that felt both intimate and full of joy. Nestled in the heart of Yorkshire, Whitley Hall provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration that blended warmth, elegance, and those little moments that make a wedding unforgettable.

Tell me more about you both.
We met at a bar in Doncaster town centre called Social, Kevin worked there and winked at me one day, got super embarrassed and disappeared straight away, as time went on he got a little braver and we hit it off from there, I often brought him pie and mash from the pie shop or a cheesy chip wrap for when he finished work in the early hours of the morning.
Kevin asked my parents for approval, they were all winding me up about a big secret they were keeping, then he popped the question down on one knee in the little living room of the little flat we shared when we first got together.
The reasons we love each other:
Kevin is kind hearted, lovable, funny and thoughtful. Obviously very handsome, and makes beautiful kids!! He is the best Dad to our babies and has been my absolute rock and through some awful times we’ve shared, 3 miscarriages, without Kevin and Jack (our son) I wouldn’t be where I am today. And now also sharing life with our beautiful little girl Sophie who has completed our family.
Emily is funny, lovely, thoughtful and beautiful person inside and out. She is so strong and resilient through the hard times. She makes me a better person.
What made you choose Whitley Hall Hotel for your wedding venue?
I was feeding Sophie at 3am one morning and the advert for Whitely popped up, we’d already booked a local pub because we were sure we wanted a church wedding. However Kevin said he felt a church wedding might be a bit culty! lol!! And also the pub, although nice, was no where near as beautiful as Whitley Hall was! We viewed it and fell in love with the grounds, the grandeur of the venue, I thought the stairs would be a beautiful place for photos. We’re staying over for a couple of nights so thought it would be nicer to do that then just be at home etc
Whitley Hall Bridel Prep.
The morning started in a relaxed, calm way, with Emily getting ready in one of Whitley Hall’s beautiful rooms. Having two photographers meant I could stay with Emily and her bridal party, capturing those quiet, candid moments—the laughter, the little last‑minute touches, and the excitement building—while my second photographer was with Kevin and the groomsmen. It’s always great to be able to cover both sides of the day without missing a single moment, and it really lets couples enjoy their prep time without feeling interrupted.

Groom Wedding day Prep.
While Emily was finishing her prep, my second photographer was with Kevin and his groomsmen. Having two photographers allows us to capture both sides of the day without missing anything. We started with some relaxed getting-ready shots in the room—cufflinks, ties, and a few laughs—then headed out around the grounds of Whitley Hall for a few portraits with the groomsmen. The winter light really worked in our favour, creating a calm, atmospheric feel while still keeping things fun and natural.

Wedding Day CEREMONY
Emily and Kevin’s ceremony was held by a celebrant rather than a registrar, which immediately gave the day a relaxed, personal feel. It was full of emotion, laughter, and those little unscripted moments that make each wedding unique. With two photographers, we were able to capture the ceremony from multiple angles without being intrusive—documenting every glance, smile, and tear while keeping the atmosphere calm and natural.

No CONFETTI but Bubbles
Confetti isn’t allowed at Whitley Hall, but that didn’t stop the fun. Instead, bubbles filled the air as Emily and Kevin made their celebratory exit. It created a playful, joyful atmosphere, and the effect in photos was fantastic—soft, whimsical, and full of life. Even without confetti, the images turned out amazing, capturing genuine smiles, laughter, and the magic of the moment.

Family Formal Pictures.
After the ceremony, we moved on to the family formal photos. Having two photographers really helps here—while one of us organised and directed groups, the other captured candid interactions and little moments in between. This approach keeps things flowing smoothly, avoids long waits, and ensures we get a mix of perfectly posed shots alongside natural, relaxed images of the family enjoying the day.

Couple Pictures.
Emily and Kevin were happy to step outside for some couple portraits despite the winter chill. The low, soft winter light gave the images a magical, romantic feel, and we kept the session relaxed and fun so it never felt staged. Having two photographers meant we could capture both wide, sweeping shots of the grounds and close, intimate moments between them at the same time. The result was a beautiful mix of natural, candid images and classic portraits that really tell the story of their day.

Wedding day Speeches.
The speeches at Emily and Kevin’s wedding were full of laughter, heartfelt moments, and a few happy tears. Being able to capture the reactions from both sides of the room makes such a difference, and having two photographers meant we didn’t miss a single expression or candid moment. From the proud smiles of parents to the playful jokes from friends, every detail was documented, giving the couple a full story of the joy and emotion shared during this part of the day.

Couple Portraits.
After the speeches, Emily and Kevin took a short walk around the inside of Whitley Hall for some private couple portraits. It was a calm, intimate moment away from the buzz of the day, and the soft winter light inside the venue created a warm, romantic atmosphere. This brief pause allowed us to capture some beautiful, relaxed images that really show their connection, while still keeping the day flowing smoothly.

Sparkler Exit
The night concluded in the most joyful way with a sparkler exit, and it was such a fun, energetic way to close the day. All the guests gathered outside, holding sparklers aloft, creating a shimmering tunnel of light for Emily and Kevin to walk through. The atmosphere was electric, full of laughter, cheers, and smiles, and the sparklers made for some truly fantastic and unique images that captured the excitement perfectly.
After the main sparkler exit, Emily and Kevin wanted a few quiet moments for themselves, so we took a short stroll around the grounds for some twilight portraits. The low winter light softened everything, giving the images a warm, romantic glow. We even brought back the bubble guns from earlier, adding playful bursts of bubbles into the scene. The result was magical—a mix of intimacy, romance, and a touch of whimsy.
These final shots were a perfect way to end the day, capturing both the energy of the celebration and the personal connection between the couple. They’ll have a gallery full of images that truly reflect the joy, love, and uniqueness of their winter wedding at Whitley Hall.

Emily and Kevin’s winter wedding at Whitley Hall Hotel was full of laughter, love, and those little moments that make a day truly unforgettable. From relaxed bridal and groom prep, through their heartfelt ceremony, playful bubble exit, and intimate couple portraits, to the lively sparkler send-off, every detail was captured naturally and beautifully. Their day perfectly combined warmth, elegance, and joy, leaving them with a collection of images that tell the story of their wedding authentically and memorably.
