The Manor House itself has some of the most spectacular indoor and outdoor spaces which are perfect to host your wedding day.

There is not just 1 licensed room to choose from at the Manor House Lindley but a very impressive 6 ceremony rooms meaning you can pick the perfect location for your wedding ceremony. If you fancy something a little more traditional St Stephen’s Church is literally just across the road. The Manor House is a wedding photographer’s dream offering grandeur mixed with stunning green spaces.

Manor House Lindley also has onsite hotel perfect for any wedding day guests who want to stay the day before, after or both.

My Approach to Wedding Photography at Manor House Lindley

I photograph the day as it happens. Most of it you will not notice me doing. I will get everyone together for the family groups you want and I will find the two of you twenty quiet minutes, but the rest of the day is yours to enjoy rather than pose for.

You get 800 or more edited images back within three weeks, and there are 73 five-star Google reviews from couples I have worked with. Lindley is fifteen minutes from me, so this is very much home ground.

Photographing a Wedding at Manor House Lindley

The Coach House sits in its own private garden, and that is the detail that matters on the day. The ceremony, the confetti and the drinks all happen within a few steps of each other, with a garden wall around the lot – so nothing has to be herded anywhere and nobody wanders off to find the bar.

The Lantern Room is the other space, and between the two the venue handles a big day and a small one equally well – up to 150 dining in the Coach House and up to 200 in the evening.

Because they only ever do one wedding a day, there is no clock running against you. That is worth more than it sounds: it means portraits can happen when the light is right rather than when the room has to be turned round, and it means the twenty minutes I ask for is twenty relaxed minutes.

The House and the Garden

Manor House Lindley is right on the edge of Huddersfield, just off junction 24 of the M62, which makes it one of the easiest venues in West Yorkshire for guests to reach. Once you are through the gates you would not know the motorway was there.

There are 11 individually designed bedrooms on site, so the wedding party can stay over and the morning is not a convoy of taxis.

It also scales. A hundred and fifty for dinner and two hundred in the evening, or something much smaller in the Lantern Room – the venue fits the day rather than the day being trimmed to fit the venue.

Planning Your Manor House Lindley Wedding

The Manor House is at 1 Lidget Street in Lindley, Huddersfield, HD3 3JB. It’s a restored manor house that’s now a hotel, restaurant and wedding venue, with a Roof Garden and a private garden next to the Coach House.

There are two rooms licensed for ceremonies. The Coach House sits in its own private garden, with double-height ceilings and a bar, and seats 150 for dining and up to 200 for the evening. The Lantern Room, inside the Manor, has exposed brickwork and a lantern feature and seats up to 40, which is lovely for a smaller wedding. Lindley Cellars holds up to 50 and can be used on the day or for a party the night before.

The packages range from Chic and Twilight to Marry on a Sunday and Extraordinary, and the details are in the venue’s brochures. The wedding menu comes from the same kitchen team behind the Lantern Room’s three AA Rosettes, so the food is a real highlight.

Rooms 1 and 2 have a private lounge and are set up as the bridal party’s base, with breakfast served in the room at a time you choose. That gives you a relaxed, comfortable space for getting ready, and plenty of room for me to capture the morning without getting in the way.

For portraits, the private garden by the Coach House and the Roof Garden are both close by, so we can be quick. I keep portraits to around twenty minutes, so you’re back with your guests in no time. If you’re thinking about a wedding at the Manor House, get in touch.
