Eden Barn situated in Cumbria is a wedding photographers dream! Eden Barn overlooks the picturesque Cumbria countryside in the stunning upper Eden Vally. Eden Barn itself is a traditional 200 year old Westmorland Stone barn and has a true rustic elegance. Eden Barn is a family run business and was originally restored for a family wedding back in June 2015, since then the family have continued with the restoration work to turn it in to the truly wonderful wedding day venue you see today.
Eden Barn is situated on the edge of the Lake District, the Pennines and the Yorkshire Dales in the Eden Valley. Eden Barn has convent access to the M6 motorway but equally retained it rural feel.

My Approach to Wedding Photography at Eden Barn
I photograph the day as it happens. Most of it you will not notice me doing. I will get everyone together for the family groups you want and I will find the two of you twenty quiet minutes, but the rest of the day is yours to enjoy rather than pose for.
You get 800 or more edited images back within three to four weeks, and there are 72 five-star Google reviews from couples I have worked with. Eden Barn is a drive from West Yorkshire and worth every mile of it.
Photographing a Wedding at Eden Barn
Both of the licensed ceremony spots at Eden Barn are outdoors – the handcrafted pavilion and the meadow down by the stream – which is unusual and worth planning around. An outdoor ceremony means the light is whatever the sky is doing, and in the Eden Valley that can change twice before the speeches. It is not a problem, it just means being ready to move.
Inside, the barn does a lot of the work on its own. Two hundred years of Westmorland stone, a limestone flagged floor and a vaulted ceiling hung with chandeliers and fairy lights – there is texture in every direction and the light falls softly off those walls. The undercover terrace is the piece that earns its keep: somewhere dry to stand when the weather turns, and the place to be when the sun drops behind the Pennines.
Portraits do not need to take long. With 100 acres around you there is no shortage of somewhere to stand, and the best of it is close to the barn rather than a hike away. Leave a few minutes free in the evening for the golden hour off the terrace – up here it is worth interrupting the party for.
The Barn and the Valley
Eden Barn is a 200 year old Westmorland stone barn at Little Musgrave, a few minutes from Kirkby Stephen. It sits in its own 100 acres with views across the Pennine hills, and the whole place is yours for the day rather than shared with anybody else.
What makes it unusual is where it sits. The Lake District is on one side, the Pennines on another and the Yorkshire Dales on a third, and the upper Eden Valley in between is quieter and emptier than any of them. Guests coming from Yorkshire or the North East get there easily enough, and once they arrive there is nothing around you but hills.
Why Choose Eden Barn?
If you want to marry outdoors and mean it, Eden Barn is one of the few places set up for it properly – two licensed spots rather than a token one, and a barn to fall back into afterwards that looks better than most halls do at their best.
The rest is the setting. A hundred acres, exclusive use, the Pennines out of every window, rooms held for your guests at The Wilding Hotel and lodges coming on site from 2027. It is a long way from a function room, and that is precisely the point.
