Barnsley Wedding Photographer
Hi, I’m Dave, a relaxed, documentary wedding photographer based near Castleford, just up the road from Barnsley. I photograph weddings in Barnsley, Penistone and the villages around them, from Burntwood Court in Brierley to Bagden Hall at Scissett, with no travel charge.
I keep things easy-going: very little posing, short portraits, and around 800 edited pictures from a full day, in an online gallery within three weeks.

Barnsley Weddings at a Glance
Photographing a Wedding in Barnsley
Barnsley sits between the M1 and the Pennines, so the venues round here tend to have plenty of green space and long views, which makes portraits easy.

I’ll be with you from the getting ready, catching the hair, the make-up and the laughs with your bridesmaids, without asking you to stop and pose.

Outdoor ceremonies are lovely round here in summer. I’ll stand back during the vows, then be ready for the first kiss and the walk back down the aisle.

Afterwards I’ll gather everyone for a big group picture, take the two of you off for about twenty minutes of portraits, and then get back to catching the speeches and the dancing.

Barnsley Venues I Know
These are the venues around Barnsley I photograph. Each one has its own page with more about the venue.
Burntwood Court

Burntwood Court is in Brierley, just outside Barnsley, in 35 acres of landscaped grounds with gardens and a bandstand. It has its own licensed chapel with oak beams and floor-to-ceiling windows, and takes from 30 to 300 guests depending on the room.
Bagden Hall

Bagden Hall is at Scissett, built in the 1860s for the mill owner Charles Norton and set in 40 acres of gardens with a lake. Outdoor ceremonies run from April to October, dogs are welcome, and Bagden only ever hosts one wedding a day. See Emily & Rosy’s, Jade & Brett’s and Tamsin & Alasdair’s weddings.

Rogerthorpe Manor

Rogerthorpe Manor is in Badsworth, a short drive east of Barnsley near Pontefract. It’s licensed for indoor and outdoor ceremonies, and parking is free. Have a look at Beth & Ryan’s wedding.
I also know Whitley Hall in Grenoside, where Emily & Kevin married, and Wentbridge House, where I photographed Georgia & Luke and Emily & Duncan.
How Much Is a Wedding Photographer in Barnsley?

Essential is £1,300 for ten hours. Signature, my most booked package, is £1,800 for the full day and includes an album and a second photographer, and Complete, which adds video, is £2,400. Part-day coverage is £400.
