GEORGIA & LUKE | WENTBRIDGE HOUSE Wedding
Wentbridge House is a stunning Georgian country house nestled in the heart of West Yorkshire, and it provided the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable wedding. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and steeped in history, the venue offers a serene and elegant atmosphere that every couple dreams of. From the moment we arrived, the charm of Wentbridge House set the stage for a day filled with love, laughter, and timeless memories. It was a true pleasure to capture every moment of this special celebration in such a breathtaking setting.
GEORGIA & LUKE how did you meet?
We met in sixth form 10 years ago on the first day and Luke walked me home.
We were engaged at Rowton Hall hotel 22/02/2022 which is a hotel we visited every year in February as a get away to start the year. The proposal was in a private room with just us which is our style, not much for balloons and banners. The things I love most about Georgia is her kind heart and smile. The things I love about Luke is amazing personality, how genuine he is and his eyes.
What Made You Choose Wentbridge House?
We had viewed a few venues and this really captured what we were looking for in a rural area with lovely gardens and grounds however very minimalistic and neutral which is our style.

Bridal Preparations at WentBridge House Hotel
Georgia began her wedding day in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her closest friends and family. It was the perfect setting for a relaxed and joyful morning, as her bridal party buzzed with excitement and anticipation. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and the sense of shared joy was palpable, making the preparations feel like the start of something truly special.
As the day unfolded, I began by capturing some of Georgia’s most cherished details — items that often hold deep personal significance and help tell the story of the wedding day. From her beautiful wedding dress hanging elegantly, to the intricate details of her jewellery, shoes, and bouquet, these moments are an essential part of the day, reflecting the thought and care put into every element.
For much of the morning, my role was to simply observe and document, allowing the natural flow of events to unfold. This is the first chapter of the wedding story — those quiet, tender moments before the whirlwind of the day truly begins. The smiles, the laughter, the final touches of makeup — all of these are the unscripted, heartfelt moments that tell the story of a bride’s journey to her wedding day.

One of the most memorable moments of the morning was when Georgia chose to do a special reveal for her bridal party. None of them had seen her in her wedding dress, making it an emotional and highly anticipated part of the day. As she stepped into the room, the excitement was palpable, and their reactions were priceless — a perfect blend of joy, awe, and admiration.
Capturing this moment was truly a joy, as it highlighted the deep bond between Georgia and her bridal party. Their gasps of excitement, happy tears, and beaming smiles filled the room, creating a beautiful scene of pure, shared happiness. Moments like these are what makes wedding photography so special — being able to freeze in time those fleeting expressions of love and joy.

Groom Preparation at Wentbridge House
Georgia and Luke made the brilliant decision to have two photographers for their wedding day, a fantastic option depending on the package chosen. Having two photographers not only allows for more comprehensive coverage of the day, but also means that both the bride and groom can have their preparation moments documented, even if they’re in different locations. It’s a wonderful way to ensure that no part of the day is missed.
While Georgia prepared at home, Luke chose to get ready at a friend’s house, surrounded by his groomsmen. The atmosphere was lively, and they kicked off the morning in great spirits, sharing laughs and getting ready for the big day ahead. From a photography perspective, capturing the groom’s preparations mirrors how we photograph the bride’s side. We start by documenting the important details — such as cufflinks, ties, and the suit — before stepping back to become more of a fly on the wall, quietly capturing those natural moments as they unfold. That said, we also know when to step in for a few more posed shots, ensuring a balance between candid moments and well-composed memories.

Church Service In Mirfeild
Georgia and Luke chose to have their wedding ceremony in a beautiful, historic church in Mirfield, not far from Leeds in West Yorkshire. The choice of this stunning church added a sense of timeless elegance to their special day. The morning was bright and sunny, with a warm glow that set the perfect tone as guests and the groom gathered outside, chatting happily before being called inside to begin the wedding service.
Before long, Georgia arrived with her bridal party in a charming vintage car, a picture of classic elegance as she stepped out, ready to walk down the aisle. The sight of the bridal party arriving against the backdrop of the church was a truly special moment, full of anticipation and excitement. The ceremony itself was simply perfect. The historic church, with its grand architecture and serene atmosphere, provided the most beautiful setting for Georga and Luke to exchange their vows, surrounded by family and friends. It was a moment of pure love and joy, and the grandeur of the church only made it all the more memorable.

As the newlyweds stepped out of the church, they were met with cheers and smiles from their wedding guests, who eagerly awaited with handfuls of confetti. The confetti shower was a joyful and celebratory moment, filling the air with colour as the couple was embraced by their loved ones. What followed were countless hugs and heartfelt congratulations, marking the start of the festivities.
Soon after, the guests made their way to Wentbridge House Hotel, the venue for the reception. Meanwhile, Georgia and Luke lingered a little longer at the church for some intimate, relaxed portraits. The church grounds provided a quiet and romantic setting for a few cherished photographs of just the two of them, capturing their first moments together as husband and wife before they joined their guests at the reception. It was a peaceful interlude in the day’s celebrations, allowing them to savour the beauty of the moment before heading off to the grandeur of Wentbridge House.

Wedding Reception at Wentbridge House Hotel
Georga and Luke chose the gorgeous Wentbridge House Hotel in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, for their wedding reception. With its stunning gardens and lovely atmosphere, it was the perfect spot for their celebrations. After arriving, they decided to take some time for family portraits. I always keep these as laid-back as possible, making sure we get some lovely shots of the couple’s closest family and friends without it feeling too formal.
Once the family photos were done, we wandered around the beautiful grounds of Wentbridge House for some relaxed portraits of Georga and Luke. The gardens and charming surroundings made for some really special, natural moments between the two of them. Before we knew it, it was time for the wedding breakfast, where everyone gathered to enjoy the meal and continue celebrating in such a wonderful setting.

Before long, it was time for one of the most anticipated parts of the day – the wedding speeches. These moments are always a delight to capture, as they bring out such a beautiful mix of emotions, from teary eyes to roaring laughter, and everything in between. Georgia and Luke’s family and friends didn’t hold back, delivering some truly memorable speeches that had the entire room hanging on every word.
The speeches were full of heartfelt stories, touching tributes, and plenty of humour, making sure there wasn’t a dry eye – or an unsmiling face – in the room. Watching the reactions of the couple and their guests was a real joy, as you could feel the deep connection between everyone there. The love, pride, and joy in the room were tangible, and it was wonderful to capture these moments as the day’s emotions came to the forefront. The guests, of course, thoroughly enjoyed it all, as laughter and applause echoed through the room, making it a perfect continuation of the day’s celebrations.

Evening Wedding Celebrations
As the day transitioned into the evening, it was time for the celebrations to really kick off. The moment everyone had been waiting for arrived as Georgia and Luke took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as they shared this special moment, surrounded by their loved ones. The music played, and they swayed together, smiling and lost in the moment, while their guests watched with beaming faces.
After the first dance, the real party began! The dance floor quickly filled up as everyone joined in, ready to celebrate the night away. Laughter, dancing, and joy filled the room as the evening celebrations unfolded, creating the perfect end to what had already been a truly beautiful day. The guests were clearly enjoying every moment, and it was wonderful to capture those spontaneous, carefree moments that make evening celebrations so memorable.

Twilight Wedding Photography
Twilight photography is one of those extra special touches that I offer in select packages. As the evening sets in and the light softens, it creates a beautiful opportunity to step outside and capture something a bit different, something truly magical. Georgia and Luke decided to include twilight photography as part of their wedding day, and it gave us the chance to create a set of unique, atmospheric images.
I briefly whisked them away from the main party for just a few minutes, allowing us to capture some stunning, romantic moments under the fading light. The result was a collection of images that really stood out from the rest of the day

Georgia and Luke’s wedding day was an absolute joy from start to finish. From the excitement of the morning preparations to the emotional ceremony, and from the fun-filled reception to the magical twilight photography, every moment was a celebration of their love and happiness. Wentbridge House Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for their special day, and it was an honour to be part of it all. Capturing these precious memories for them was a privilege, and I’m sure they’ll cherish these moments for years to come.
