Hannah & Paul, how did you meet?
We met nearly 7 years ago in Leeds, we moved into Pauls’s flat about 3 years later in Huddersfield and the following year we then moved into our first house together. We have a sausage dog called Betsy (she won’t be attending the wedding sadly). Paul proposed in Plymouth 2 years to the date before our wedding day. Paul likes that I am very thoughtful and I like that Paul is caring and funny.
What made you choose the Woodlands Hotel?
We went to a few venues that we liked but we fell in love with the Woodlands as it has a homely feel but is still big enough. It also has plenty of rooms and we loved the chandeliers and flooring and the fact we can get married outside, as we first considered getting married abroad but wasn’t suitable for older family members and obviously if the rain stays away. If we have to get married inside due to the weather we still like the drawing room as it looks like a mini library. As well as this we like that it is still close to friends and family but feels secluded and has lovely lawns.

Bride Prep at Woodland Hotel
Hannah chose to get ready at the Woodlands Hotel before her wedding day. This is such a fantastic option everything is all in one place and you can rest easy knowing you won’t get stuck in any traffic. One of the first things I always photograph is any details. Your wedding day details might include things such as your dress flowers, alternately anything you have spent money on. From there I document the bridal preparations as they happen, having little input to help you get the most out of your wedding day pictures. Hannah and the rest of her bridal party were in good spirits ahead of the wedding day. They all had their hair and make up completed professionally and chilled before the big day ahead.

Groom Preparation
Paul chose to get ready at his parent’s house with his groomsmen and some of his closest family members. Hannah and Paul chose a wedding photography package with two wedding photographers meaning their day could be captured from two different angles. This is perfect for the preparations ahead of the wedding day one photographer can be with the groom while one is with the bride.

An Outside wedding ceremony at Woodlands Hotel
Hannah and Paul had chosen an outside ceremony for their wedding day. The wedding did not disappoint and we were able to go ahead with the ceremony in the summer sun.

Wedding Reception.
After the I dos, it was time for the wedding reception. Hannah and Paul were congratulated by their guests in the stunning grounds of the Woodlands Hotel. It was fantastic to see some many hugs and all the love shared between all the friends and family. Before long it was time for the group formal pictures. Hannah and Paul had chosen their nearest and dearest friends and family for some group pictures. I try to keep these as relaxed as possible which I think means better images for the couple.

Couple Portraits.
After the group formal pictures myself, Hannah and Paul took some time away for some couple portraits. I try and keep the couples portraits relaxed and informal but I also want to capture both the bride and groom some wonderful pictures they will be proud to hand on their wall and remember a fantastic wedding day. Hannah and Paul were amazing! We were able to capture some fantastic images.

The Wedding Breakfast
The wedding breakfast at The Woodlands Hotel was fantastic. The room looked amazing! Paul and Hannah chose to start with speeches, such a mix of emotions throughout the speeches.

Evening Celebrations
The evening celebration started with the traditional cutting of the cake followed by the first dance between the couple. It then did not take long for the dance floor to get going and everyone was enjoying the evening celebration. I stole the bride and groom away for a very short time for some evening portraits before we said our goodbyes.
What an incredible wedding day Paul and Hannah had, thank you both so much for choosing me to capture your wedding day at the Woodlands Hotel in Leeds.
