Harrogate Wedding Photographer

Hi, I’m Dave, a relaxed, documentary wedding photographer based near Castleford. I photograph weddings in Harrogate, Knaresborough, Wetherby and the countryside around them, from Rudding Park to Allerton Castle, and there’s no travel charge for any of it.

I don’t do stiff posing. I’ll capture your day as it unfolds, keep the portraits short and give you around 800 edited pictures from a full day, in an online gallery within three weeks.

Photographing a Wedding in Harrogate

Harrogate’s wedding venues tend to come with a lot of room to roam. Rudding Park has 300 acres of gardens and woodland, Wood Hall has 100 acres with the River Wharfe running through, and the Ure winds through the estate at Aldwark Manor. That gives us plenty of choice for portraits without going far from your guests.

Bride having her make-up done in the window light

I’ll usually be with you from the getting ready, catching the little moments: the last touches of make-up, the car pulling up, the first look from your dad. Then I’ll follow you through the ceremony, the drinks and the speeches without getting in the way.

Several venues round here let you marry outside, so I’ll plan the pictures around where you’ll be standing and where the light will be at that time of day. Portraits take about twenty minutes, and with the Signature or Complete package we’ll pop out again after sunset for fifteen minutes of twilight pictures.

Rudding Park is in Follifoot, just outside Harrogate, with 300 acres of gardens and woodland around the Grade II listed Rudding House. You can marry in the Radcliffe Room for 80 to 180 guests, the Crosby Suite for 50 to 72, or outside on the Jupiter Terrace and Lawn for up to 120, under the wisteria. Have a look at Faye & Nick’s, Emily & Joseph’s and Natasha & Marcus’s weddings.

Allerton Castle

Allerton Castle is at Allerton Mauleverer, near Knaresborough. Ceremonies are in the Great Hall, with its grand staircase, and the wedding breakfast is in the Vaulted Ballroom. Laura & Jake and Holly & Dean both married here.

Wood Hall Hotel & Spa

Wood Hall is at Linton, near Wetherby, looking out over the Wharfe Valley from 100 acres with the River Wharfe running through them. You can marry in the Georgian Room for up to 60, the Vavasour Suite for up to 100, or outside on the Front Steps or in the Italian Gardens for up to 100.

Aldwark Manor

Aldwark Manor sits between York and Harrogate, near Alne, with the River Ure running through the estate and an 18-hole golf course. It’s licensed for civil ceremonies, and the Salus spa opened there in November 2025. See Sara & Scott’s wedding.

Chevin Country Park Hotel

The Chevin Country Park Hotel is up on the Chevin above Otley, among woodland with a lake, and ceremonies are held in the hotel’s suites. Laura & Dan’s wedding was here.
