Lauren & James | Aston Hall Wedding

Nestled amidst the picturesque South Yorkshire countryside, Aston Hall provided the perfect backdrop for Lauren and James’s beautiful wedding day. This stunning 18th-century manor house effortlessly combines historic charm with modern elegance, creating a romantic atmosphere for their celebration.

From the first moments of the day, filled with excitement and anticipation, to the heartfelt vows and joyous festivities that followed, their wedding was a true reflection of love, laughter, and shared memories. Aston Hall’s exquisite interiors and lush gardens set the stage for capturing every detail—from the tender glances to the lively dance floor moments.

It was an absolute pleasure to be part of Lauren and James’s journey, documenting their story in such an incredible setting. Their wedding was a day to remember, and I’m thrilled to share a glimpse into their special moments with you.

Lauren & Jaimes.

We met online and after getting to know each other we eventually scheduled a date in Leeds starting with a cocktail at Slug and Lettuce, moving for food at Cozy Club (we plan on recreating this for our last date before the wedding). When I saw James was ‘looking for something casual’ and his favourite drink was ‘Pepsi Max’ it raised some red flags, but the fact he worked in bars so knew how to make a cocktail and enjoyed cooking and cleaning, I thought I would give him a chance.
James is the most kind, understanding and good-hearted person I have ever met. He makes me laugh, he comforts me and offers me support and guidance when I need it most. These are qualities I have always found in my Grandad so seeing them in James was super special to me.
Lauren is a kind, good-willed, thoughtful and ambitious person who I fell in love with at first sight. I knew she was the one when we made homemade pizzas together

We had booked to go to Agadir, Morocco on holiday for Lauren’s 25th birthday and went on an excursion to Paradise Valley for the day. We drove through winding mountains to the bottom of the valley where Lauren was brave enough to swim in the natural pool but after spotting a bright orange snake in the water James didn’t fancy joining. James was very keen for us to go for a stroll on our own but Lauren didn’t see the rush. Eventually, Lauren gave in and we walked through the palm trees by the riverside. Lauren asked if she could walk ahead and James would take some photos of her. As she turned back around and saw James on one knee she was really proud of him because she thought he was knelt down to get some good angles…. She then noticed the ring box in James’s other hand and he asked her to marry him. Lauren was shocked and the first thing she said is “Really? Are you sure?” James eventually stood up and had to ask again, Lauren threw her arms around him and said YES!

What made you choose Aston Hall Hotel for your Wedding Day?

We fell in love with the building and the outdoor space surrounding the venue, especially the pagoda area where we hope to have our ceremony (James fell in love with the bar and the lights). We liked how large the indoor space was, so we would have plenty of room for everything imagined. It was important to us that the venue had hotel rooms for family visiting from out of town, and so that we could stay.

How did you personalise your wedding At Aston Hall?

Our colour scheme is black and white as Lauren is very monochromatic. The groomsmen and bridesmaids will be wearing black to match the theme. We will also be having 2 casino tables to keep people entertained and energy high.

We are incorporating a memory table as we have lost a lot of important family members recently (Grooms Mother and Grandmother, Brides Grandfather and Uncle).

We are having a sweet table and Donut wall to satisfy the Grooms sweet tooth and the Brides’s younger sister is making the Wedding cake.

Bridal Preparations

Lauren’s choice to get ready at Aston Hall was a brilliant one, allowing her to fully immerse herself in the excitement of the day without worrying about travel. Being already at the venue meant everything felt seamless and relaxed from the start.

I began the morning by photographing the carefully chosen wedding details—each telling its own part of Lauren and James’s story. From the intricate lace of the dress to the sparkling jewellery, every piece was thoughtfully curated. Meanwhile, the bridal preparations were in full swing, with an atmosphere buzzing with laughter and anticipation. The girls were in wonderful spirits, enjoying every moment of getting ready together for the day ahead.

Lauren and James chose the picturesque grounds of Aston Hall Hotel as the setting for their wedding ceremony—a truly stunning choice. With the natural beauty of the venue as their backdrop, they exchanged their vows surrounded by their closest friends and family. The atmosphere was filled with love and joy as everyone gathered to celebrate this special moment.

The guests took their seats, eagerly awaiting the bride’s arrival. James stood at the top of the aisle, his expression a mix of excitement and emotion as he waited to see his beautiful bride for the first time. It was a flawless ceremony, brimming with heartfelt moments that reflected the deep connection Lauren and James share.

Soon after, it was time for the formal group photographs. Lauren and James had carefully selected nine groups of their closest friends and family to feature in these, ensuring that everyone important to them was included. While I made sure these traditional portraits were perfect, I also took the opportunity to create something a little more unique with the bridal party—a fun twist to add character and personality to their collection of memories.

After the group formal photographs, I had the pleasure of stealing Lauren and James away from the festivities for a short while. We took a relaxed stroll through the beautiful grounds of Aston Hall, creating the perfect opportunity to capture some truly stunning moments between them.

Lauren and James were an absolute joy to work with. They embraced the moment, allowing me to document their natural connection while also following a bit of gentle direction for more composed shots. The Wedding Breckfast At Aston Hall.

Aston Hall’s function room is a beautiful space in its own right, but Lauren and James turned it into something truly magical for their wedding reception. The care and attention they put into every detail shone through, from the elegant table arrangements to the stunning decor that perfectly captured their vision. Guests couldn’t stop commenting on how incredible everything looked, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting—a reflection of Lauren and James’s thoughtfulness and love for their friends and family.

Lauren and James decided to have their speeches before the wedding breakfast, which added a lovely flow to the afternoon. The speeches were a perfect mix of heartfelt emotion and humour, leaving not a dry eye in the room one moment and laughter echoing through the next. James spoke beautifully, sharing touching memories of their journey together, while the best man had everyone in stitches with his stories. These moments really brought the day to life and made everyone feel so connected to the couple’s story.

It was clear just how much love and joy surrounded Lauren and James, and capturing these moments felt like such a privilege. The whole day was truly a celebration of two wonderful people and the incredible bond they share.

Evening Wedding Celibrations.

The evening celebrations were nothing short of spectacular, a perfect way to cap off such an incredible day. Lauren and James began with the traditional cutting of their beautifully designed wedding cake, followed by their first dance as a married couple. It was a moment filled with romance and joy as they swayed under the warm glow of the function room lights, surrounded by their loved ones.

It didn’t take long for the dance floor to come alive. Friends and family wasted no time joining in, filling the room with energy, laughter, and some impressive dance moves. The atmosphere was electric as everyone celebrated Lauren and James’s fantastic wedding day.

As the evening unfolded and the sun dipped below the horizon, I took Lauren and James outside for some twilight portraits. The soft, dusky light created an enchanting backdrop for these final, intimate images—something a little different and magical to end their collection of memories.

The night concluded with a sparkler exit, as their guests lined up to send them off with sparkling trails of light. It was a joyful and picture-perfect moment, filled with laughter and a tangible sense of love and celebration. Capturing these moments felt like the perfect finale to such an unforgettable day.
